Ever lined up dominos into a wacky shape that winds across the floor and under chairs from room to room? It takes time, patience and a steady hand to set them up and then you step back and knock the first one over and one after another they tumble into each other and race to the finish line. It’s fun to watch … but way less fun when “dominos falling” describes the constancy and pace of your life!
That’s what it’s like when we squeeze everything in without any room for error, without margins. If just one domino doesn’t line up - everything falls apart. So we work hard to make sure they all do line up; telling ourselves one day “it” will all work out. The issue is that for many - one day is a blurry vision way down the road and we continue to pack our lives full - in pursuit of the elusive “it.”
So we increase our pace and we decrease our peace. We struggle to “be here now” as we’re distracted from what’s most important in our lives. It’s not okay for our schedules, our finances or our relationships to exist without margins and there’s a connection between our willingness to create margin and our faith. Life is way better when we live with room to breathe.
God wired us up to live trusting in the provision of His presence.
“Don’t worry ... Your heavenly father already knows all your needs” Matthew 6 verses 31, 32
In this 4 week series we’ll look at the catalyst that drives us to live without pace and peace and how trusting God’s faithfulness allows us Room to Breathe ... distance between our current pace and our limits in how we organize our schedules, our finances and our relationships.
This is a great series that will both encourage and challenge you whether you might be curious about Jesus or the Christian faith or you're more established in your faith in Jesus. You’re invited seek the “giver of peace” together starting January 5th!
