When we wish each other a "Happy New Year" we start off the year with happiness in mind - for others and for ourselves. Pursuing that - many of us make New Year's resolutions - to be healthier, more balanced, to refine and become a better version of ourselves in some way … and many resolve that doing those things will make us happier.
When we think about what might make us happy most likely we think it’s the addition of something in our lives or the removal of something from our lives. We all daydream about something: a job, house, car, spouse, child, family, achieving optimal health or financial freedom. Everyone wants to be happy and most likely we all have a plan to achieve that happiness.
Why does it seem that happiness is easy to find, but hard to keep? And … what is it that makes us happy?
Jesus asks us to consider a compelling question - What if what makes us happy isn’t a what at all. What if it’s a who?
