Do you ever think of Christianity as a spiritual game of Simon Says … accept it's - Jesus says do this - Jesus says don’t do that. There's nothing very dynamic about that in fact - that just sounds exactly like another religious model approach to life.
But when Jesus walked on earth people followed Him - everywhere. Why? What was so compelling? Where was He leading them? Who took Him up on His offer and what did He require of those who followerd in order to come along and be part of His crew?
Jesus didn't call people to religion or to different rules or regulations. He didn't call people to a program of being nicer or kinder or about doing this and not doing that or you’re out! He made a deeply personal invitation.
His invitation isn’t to religion - that's “change and then follow me”. Jesus invitation is an invitation to a relationship with Him. His invitation is open to anyone - no matter who we are, how we behave or what we believe - in fact the only prerequisite is to be a sinner with doubts - because we’re all sinners and we all have doubts.
During this series we're going to look at questions like - What did Jesus say and what did He mean when He invited others to "Follow" Him? Where is He leading and what is He asking of those who accept the invitation?
His invitation is “follow me and you will change" and this is a great series if you've got "kicking tires" kind of questions on what faith in Jesus might involve!
