Is it possible to love someone you've never met? Logically we would have to say no - you can't love someone you've never met. If it were possible - it would reduce the beauty, power and passion of love to something closer to appreciation.
It can also be very easy to say we love our neighbour but do we actually know our neighbours to be able to say we love them? While it's okay to appreciate your neighbours - that seems more self-serving, like you gain something from your neighbours so you appreciate them. Jesus guided us to love our neighbours. Love means to honour in some way. It involves action and sacrifice. Love is a verb not a feeling.
Jesus challenged His followers to love our neighbours. The reality is we can't love them unless we make the effort to get to know them and in this week's video - Bob challenges us to see the connection between obedience and love and getting to know our neighbours and loving them.
