If I were to ask you how you got to your workplace from home or to another location you travel to regularly - you might have to really think about the route you took because most likely it's routine or common and you don't think about it.
So how did we get to "Good Friday"? What journey did humanity take to get to this place ... and how did it come to be called "Good"?
If we go all the way back to the beginning of our human story - in a garden - we got here by listening to a voice other than our creator. That other voice spoke insecurity and fear into us, telling us that in order to "be someone" we had to "do something" and we've been living under the crushing weight of that ever since.
But our creator didn't stand pointing his finger at us - condemning us ... in fact it's just the opposite. He has been searching for us - pointing to a day of rescue and redemption. A day where He would remove what has separated us, bring healing and hold us close. But that day would cost the life of Jesus - the Saviour-Sacrifice ... and it's the reason we call today - Good Friday.
